Where to stay near the Vatican: Prati, Cipro and Valle Aurelia
“Near the Vatican” covers a broad area. When choosing a Rome apartment, start with the actual address and how you plan to use the home: sleeping, sightseeing, family meals and travelling with luggage.
Three homes, three starting points
Domus Aurelia is at Piazza dei Prati degli Strozzi 21; Domus Giulia is at Viale delle Medaglie d’Oro 8; Domus Adriana is at Via Giannozzo Manetti 33. Neighbourhood names provide context, but the street number is the useful starting point. Two apartments described as “Vatican” may involve different journeys.

What to compare around Prati, Cipro and Valle Aurelia
For Aurelia, check the route towards Ottaviano and walks in the Prati area. For Giulia, compare access to Cipro; for Adriana, look at Valle Aurelia. Open directions from the actual property and consider changes, luggage, a pushchair and your arrival time.
If you are visiting the Vatican Museums, use the museum entrance as your destination. For the Basilica, select St Peter’s. A broad “Vatican” map search is not precise enough to compare accommodation.
Choose the layout before comparing prices
Two bathrooms can be useful when several guests get ready at the same time. One bedroom may suit a couple or a small family, but check where any additional guests would sleep. Look at the room photographs and tell the host how many adults and children are travelling.
